YOU MUST WAKE UP FOR SARI TIME, OTHERWISE YOUR FAST IS NOT ACCEPTED

YOU SHOULD BE AVOIDING FIZZY DRINKS AND FRIED FOOD, ESPECIALLY ON AN EMPTY STOMACH.

MAKE SURE YOU PRAY, OTHERWISE THE ROZA IS UNLIKEY TO BE ACCEPTED.

BREAKFAST MAKE IT HEALTHY

1. eat little and often after iftar till sari time to consume food
2. its only obligatory to fast after the age of 12
3. eat dates 4 which will give you sufficient calories
4. drink water, little and often between sari and iftar.
5. refrain from school sports activities

6. protein drink before you go to sleep; check the ingredients for artificial colours and additives which cause cancer and thickening agents

7. carry something on you to eat at all times, just incase you are held up and dont get home in time for iftari.

8. fruit , water, milk dates, should be included in the iftar, salt and vitamin tablets.

9. find out if the school will facilitate a prayer room, especially during the month of ramadan. otherwise pray later and hope the prayer is accepted.

Portion size shown is more than that required for one person as it is just shown here for presentation reasons.

I have added coriander and potatoes, boiled eggs and sweetcorn. its a good idea to add mixed vegetables for children.

Mama sent me lamb plough and chicken curry.

So the next day I just made roasted chicken with potatoes.

HANDY TIPS FOR ADULTS FASTING

1. do tell your employer this is the hoy month of ramadan for you and that you will be fasting and hope he will be compassionate. 

2. always take some food with you if you expect the fast to open whilst you are out.

3.eat as healthy as possible, slow burning foods.

EXEMPTIONS FROM FASTING

1. if you are on medication

2.if you are ill

3. if you vomit  during fasting, that fast is disqualified

4..for a woman she is not allowed to fast during her menstruation cycle

5.for a woaman which is expecting , she is not required to fast/
