Comedy Festival starts today!  31 August to 3rd September
Tourists have been coming to Buxton and the Peak District since the 14th Century and it’s not surprising that Buxton is today one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Peak District. Within an hour’s drive of Manchester, Sheffield, Derby and Stoke, its famous Georgian and Victorian architecture provides an impressive backdrop to a rich and vibrant range of music, theatre and festivals.
The Buxton Festival of World Cinema takes place around March/April, with the Big Session Festival of folk music in April/May. July brings the Buxton Festival of Opera, Music and Literature, the Buxton Well-Dressing Festival, Buxton Fringe Festival and the Buxton Military Tattoo. In August the Family Festival provides fun for all the family.

Historical Buxton

There is much of historical interest in Buxton also. The magnificent Crescent  was built in 1780, the Old Hall Hotel dates back to 1573 when the captive Mary Queen of Scots stayed at the hotel. These and other places of interest are on the Heritage Trail which you can follow or take a guided Wonder of the Peak Tram Tour of the town or join one of Discover Buxton tours character guides for a unique peek into the past.

Outdoors, Shopping, Food and Drink

Added to all this there is the stunning ornamental Pavilion Gardens , Poole’s Cavern show caves or the high thrills of Go Ape’s aerial rope walks. Buxton is the Gateway to the Peak District, and it’s a great base for all the huge range of outdoor activities that the National Park has to offer, but there’s so much going on in the town itself that you might find yourself hard pressed to leave.

PAKORA RECIPE

Ingredients

1. 250g/½lb gram flour, otherwise known as basan
2. 50g/2oz self-raising flour, not needed
3. ½ tsp red chili powder.
4. 1 tsp garam masala, not needed
5. 1 tsp tandoori masala powder (optional), available from specialist asian supermarkets.
6. 1 tbsp lemon juice, makes it bitter
7. 300g/10½oz potatoes, peeled and cut into small pieces.
8. 300g/10½oz onions, finely chopped add with yogurt later
9.  add chopped coriander , delicious 
10. add salt to taste

It was, busy noisey london & a busy  noisey road in central london , you could have heard a pin drop .

Without any resembelance, I had left my keys at home & I scurried to open the door , as dismal as it was , I then walked to the corner takeaway to call for change for a £20, to call for a duplicate key, but shops never have change so had to just borrow a quid which I returned the next day .

you know that feeling that you vow never to eat unhealthy again .

you promise yourself you will never eat another donnar kebab , because its just waste meat & ground bones .

I had forgotten my phone at home .

samosas was my weak point , but the last stale one had put me off for life .

I was surprised to hear the white hokar on the corner talking about the quid though .
Whether your going up the road or round the corner , its always best to eat healthy .

It could have only been made worse if it had been raining & I had got drenched , oh well that was something to look forward to .

I have seen her , someone looks just like me, shes doing all the bad stuff & their trying to blame me.
